COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING
Each element has its own objectives, policies and programs to plan for the future needs and growth of Three Lakes for the next twenty years.
ISSUES AND OPPORTUNITIES:
Background information for the Town along with a statement to guide future development in five-year phases from 2010 through 2030
HOUSING:
Meet future needs for an adequate supply of affordable housing
TRANSPORTATION:
Plan modes of transportation such as roads, biking, walking, air, and water routes
UTILITIES AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES:
Future development of sanitary sewers, storm-water management, water supply, recycling, telecommunications, power supply, child and health care facilities, libraries, schools, town buildings, police and fire departments
AGRICULTURAL, NATURAL AND CULTURAL RESOURCES:
Planning the conservation and management of our natural, recreational, historical and cultural resources
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
Promote sustainable economic development and employment opportunities by retaining and attracting businesses
LAND USE:
Placement of residential, commercial, agricultural, recreational and industrial parcels in locations that are compatible and in harmony with the characteristics of the Town
INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATION:
Joint planning and decision-making between schools, community, adjacent communities and other governmental units for shared facilities and services
IMPLEMENTATION: Provides for the necessary changes in ordinances, regulations, codes, polices and programs needed to implement the comprehensive plan including a means of measuring progress and updating the plan
