Based upon the recommendation of the Three Lakes Plan Commission as provided for in State Statute 66.1001 to adopt the Comprehensive Plan, the Town of Three Lakes Board of Supervisors approved the Comprehensive Plan as law on December 15, 2009 (Ordinance to Adopt Comprehensive Plan).

May 27, 2008 (Plenary Meeting)
Officers present timeline to all Sub-Committee chairs and members, serving as guidance for them throughout the planning process. Discussion clarifying any issues related to completion of existing use inventories underway. TAG brochure distributed to all members for dissemination into the community to further the education process about the purpose, mission and goals of TAG.
June 24, 2008 (Plenary Meeting)
Sub-Committees submit results of existing use inventory data gathering and collection. Methodology discussed/agreed for transforming data into information (charts, spreadsheets). Work begins.
July 22, 2008 (Plenary Meeting)
Sub-Committees present tabulated data and information formats for review and discussion. Officers present a framework, including a draft of the Issues and Opportunities element, for sub-committees to take and, using their baseline data, to begin to develop the specific growth elements that will provide the basic architecture for the plan.
August 26, 2008 (Plenary Meeting)
Sub-Committees present and review specific growth elements developed to date. Review and discussion. Corrections to approach and methodology as required.
September 23, 2008 (Plenary Meeting)
Sub-Committees submit action plans containing goals, objectives and timelines for completion of the items and requirements for their respective element of the plan. Final draft of Issues and Opportunities delivered to sub-committees for use as a guideline.
October 28, 2008 (Plenary Meeting)
Sub-Committees given guidelines on developing drafts of specific elements and work begins.
November 6, 2008
Mid-Course Meeting - updating taxpayers on the progress made to date. Q&A session on the elements of the comprehensive plan.
November 25, 2008 (Plenary Meeting)
Presentation and review of results from Mid-Course Meeting. Adjustments made as needed to the plan methodology and framework based upon new data just gathered.

Selection and confirmation of OMNNI Associates (Appleton, WI) as TAG's strategic planning partner.
2007 Timeline Summary
The first two Community Forums of 2007 began the huge project of collecting information required to reflect the Town's for the future of Three Lakes into the State-mandated 20-Year Comprehensive Plan.
